Specifications of the new Toyota Hilux

Aimed at the most demanding professional and professional Hilux customers, the new 2.8-liter powertrain is available in auxiliary and double-cab modes, with a choice of a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission paired with all-wheel drive, and a fitted stop-and-start. Basic.

2.8 liter diesel engine

The new Euro 6d, DOHC, 16-valve compliant diesel engine generates 2755 cc 150 kW / 204 DIN at 3400 rpm, and with automatic transmission, 500 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,800 rpm. The maximum torque of the 420 Nm manual transmission versions ranges between 1,400 and 3,400 rpm.


This new unit equipped with automatic transmission will accelerate the Hilux from 0-100 km / h in just 10.7 seconds (2.1 seconds faster than the existing 2.4 liter unit), whilst returning an average fuel consumption of 9.5 l / 100 km and CO2 emissions of 250 g / km.


It is equipped with a common rail fuel injection system, a variable nozzle turbocharger and a water-cooled intercooler. Exhaust emissions control measures include a Diesel Oxidisation Catalyst (DOC), a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Urea Additional Injection.


A newly-developed heavy-duty turbocharger has been adopted. The size of the impeller and turbine wheel blades has been increased - from 48 to 58 mm for the former, and from 41.5 to 52 mm for the latter - increasing supercharged air volume.
