The Sorento is Kia's mid-size SUV offering and a step down from the Telluride in terms of size. The new Sorento will come in five different trims and with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, according to a company release

It also offers a number of engine options, including a naturally aspirated four-cylinder, a turbocharged four-cylinder, and two different four-cylinder turbocharged hybrids

Kia didn't announce pricing at this time for the new Sorento but expects it to go on sale later this year. Keep reading to learn more about it

The all-new 2021 Kia Sorento midsize sport utility vehicle is all about options. With five trim levels and three powertrain options, plus front-wheel and all-wheel drive options, the fourth-generation Sorento casts a wide grille in terms of appeal. The three-row passenger van also provides a choice of seats for six or seven passengers. And for fuel-efficient buyers who don't mind waiting, the Sorento will be offered in a plug-in hybrid model next year

Kia uses the term "tiger nose" to describe the recent 2021 Sorento grille, a design that represents an evolution in the look and feel of the brand. The new grille zips towards the standard LED headlights on the sides, and buyers can choose to frame the lower portion of the headlights with daytime running lights. The new Sorento’s wheelbase extends 1.4 inches longer than the previous model, allowing for more interior space and creating space for batteries within the hybrid and upcoming PHEV powertrain

On the safety front, Kia offers 16 different advanced driver-assistance safety technology, including Standard Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, which automatically changes the speed of the adaptive cruise control based on changes to the speed limit. All 2021 Sorentos will come with lane keeping assistance, driver attention warning, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking. Bicyclist collision avoidance, blind spot collision avoidance and parking distance warning are optional

Kia has sold almost 1.5 million Sorentos since the introduction of the SUV in 2002. The 2021 model will go on sale later this year, with pricing and confirmed fuel economy numbers to be announced closer to the on-sale date
