2021 Audi SQ7 review Audi luxury SUV with 500 hp V8

Audi Q7 SUV

2021 AUDI SQ7

Audi Q7 SUV in-depth review

The standard AUDI SQ7 is exciting enough for you, the AUDI SQ7 performance vehicle is what you are looking for. This more powerful version of the luxury three-row Audi SUV comes standard with a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 500 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. It also looks a little more aggressive than the base models and has different suspension tuning to help it handle better. Like competitors such as the BMW X5 M and Mercedes-AMG GLE-class, the SQ7 offers a high level of luxury to complement its sporty character, with plenty of standard and optional amenities

What's new for 2021

The steering wheel of the heated AUDI SQ7 is now standard. And if you opt for the Executive Package on the Premium Plus model, additional leather trim is now included

Engine, transmission and performance AUDI SQ7

The SQ7 features a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 with 500 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque that it shares with the mechanically similar two-row SUV of the SQ8. That sounds like a lot, and it is: This is the same engine found in the higher-performing RS Q8, and it gives very little power and torque in this application. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard, as is the eight-speed automatic transmission, and Audi claims a 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph

Interior, comfort and cargo AUDI SQ7

The AUDI SQ7 has the same functional interior as the AUDI Q7, but with some special touches including sport seats with different leather trim. A third row of seats is standard equipment on the SQ7, as is the case on the Q7, which means this is a fast, seven-passenger family pickup truck. Cargo space is limited behind the third row as is the case on the Q7, but drop those seats side-by-side with the second row chairs and the SQ7 will likely contain 25 carry-on bags that we were able to fit into the regular Q7

Infotainment and connectivity in the AUDI SQ7

The Q7 has received an update for 2020 that includes a new touchscreen infotainment system, and the SQ7 will have the same setup. Three digital screens are spread across the dashboard, one as a reconfigurable gauge display, the other for navigation and entertainment, and the third providing access to the car's settings and climate control. Depending on how you feel about the physical versus touch-sensitive controls, the SQ7 interior might be pleasing or infuriating

Safety and driver assistance features of the AUDI SQ7

While neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) completed a crash test on the AUDI SQ7, the regular Q7 model received five stars from the NHTSA and performed well on the IIHS battery for tests in 2019. Audi It hasn't yet shared the safety features that will be standard and optional on the SQ7, but we'd expect the SUV's driver assistance kit to mirror the Q7 lineup. Key safety features include
