2021 Audi RS Q8 prices and specifications SUVs

2021 Audi RS Q8

Australian pricing for the 2021 Audi RS Q8 performance SUV has been announced today, with the model slated for an arrival in October

The RS Q8 – a hotted-up version of the Q8 SUV – is priced from $208,500 plus on-road costs, representing a premium of $43,000 over the previously top-spec SQ8

For the extra cost, buyers get a 441kW/800Nm 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance that can save up to 0.8L/100km of driving under the right conditions

Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system

The brand claims its RS Q8 can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds and pass 200km/h in 13.7 seconds on its way to an electronically-limited 250km/h top speed

The model is also claimed to hold the fastest lap for an SUV around the famed Nurburgring circuit with a 7:42.2 time. For reference, this is only 10 seconds slower than Audi’s sports flagship R8 V10 Plus supercar

Furthering performance in the RS Q8 is an all-wheel steering system, massive 10-piston brakes clamping 420mm rotors up front with the option of ceramic units that increase the diameter to 440mm and shave off 34kg of weight, and electromechanical active roll stabilisation

Standard equipment includes RS body styling, LED matrix headlights, 23-inch wheels with loose wheel detection and anti-theft bolts, electric tailgate, power-assisted door closure, privacy glass and a panoramic glass sunroof

A convenience key, metallic paint, exterior mirror (with electric adjustability, heating, folding, auto dimming with memory function and passenger kerb-side function), four-way lumbar support, heated front and rear seats, four-zone climate control, electric sunblind for rear side windows (manual for rear window), an air quality package and illuminated door sills all come as standard

Audi’s new dual screen MMI infotainment system comes equipped, with a 10.1-inch upper and 8.6-inch lower screen. The system has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, sending sound through a 17-speaker, 730-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system

A full suite of safety and tech is offered with the RS Q8, including adaptive cruise control with start-stop and traffic jam assist, front and rear parking sensors, Audi pre-sense front and rear, active lane and side assist, heads-up display and a 360-degree camera with kerb view
